Technical Coach/Instructional Designer - REF1436

Our client, Cognite is a global leader in industrial software with their Industrial DataOps platform, Cognite Data Fusion, at the core. The global Cognite Academy team is critical in enabling Cognite’s customers and partners to achieve their ambitious goals with Cognite Data Fusion (CDF). We are on the look for a Senior Technical Instructional Designer to be part of the Cognite Academy in Sri Lanka to work with global Cognite Academy team. As a Senior Technical Instructional Designer in Cognite Academy in the Customer & Partner Enablement Team, you will create and deliver training content to customer and partner audiences of varying technical backgrounds. The role has three areas of responsibility: content creation, Academy subject matter expert, and technical trainer.

What we are looking for:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering/Statistics or an equivalent qualification.

· Proven working experience (>=5 years) in a role which requires technical understanding such as data science or data engineering, along with some knowledge of Python, SQL.

· Experience working with DevOps, DataOps or similar technology.

· Experience with Azure Active Directory.

· Excellent presentation and communication skills (written and oral).

· Interest in learning new technologies (both IT and instructional design).

· Experience with learning management system, Vyond, Adobe Premiere Pro, Genially, etc.

· Interest in learning about instructional design.

· Ability to explain complicated concepts in simple ways to both technical and non-technical audiences.

· Passionate about enabling customers and partners in a scalable way to use CDF.

· Open to challenges, self-starter ready to take initiative and execute.

· Ability to understand and communicate with both a technical audience and application users.

· Willing to work irregular i.e. European hours.

What you’ll need to do:

· Creative Content Creation: Expertise or interest in learning to use the Academy’s authoring and learning management system tools to become self-sufficient in creating simple videos, animations, and other interactive content.

· Usage of tools like Adobe Premiere Pro, Vyond, Genially, and Skilljar to create engaging content for on-demand e-learning and instructor-led training. It’s not necessary to have previous knowledge of all the tools, we are happy to help you get started.

· Academy Subject Matter Expert: Use your creative vein and technical understanding to create courses together with SMEs from the different professions and verticals or engineering teams.

· With knowledge in data science or data engineering and instructional, you will be in a unique position to drive Cognite Academy’s ambitious content roadmap through identifying gaps in the offerings and building the right content to eliminate them.

· Designing courses and building hands-on exercises that explore the various aspects of using CDF.

· Technical Trainer Persona: Delivering live training sessions virtually and in-person (up to 25% travel in the APAC). The level of the training sessions varies from introductory (CDF for domain experts and CDF Fundamentals) to highly complex (5-day CDF delivery bootcamp).
